Another Myvi with cataract needs eye surgery

Been super long time since I last posted so I am going to start with a small post. I will explain the reason for the 1 year 8 months hiatus in my next post. What I have been doing, what happened to my life, what I have achieved and most importantly..... what epic journeys I have been given the pleasure to go thru.

This restoration was done more than a year back. The car belongs to a buddy of mine and he came in along with another car that was up for a full body coating. This car belongs to my buddy's then GF..... now WIFE. Never been restored and not taken care of so it sorta oxidised to the current stage, Thank god there was no cracking.

Onwards to the photos.

The car after arriving was given a quick wipe with ONR and then taped off to prevent accidental compounding. Not much photos for this journey as I was busy rushing to complete the other car.


A closer look at the right...... not so severe oxidation on the headlamp.

After the headlamps were restored, it was given a layer of protection.... what protection? What else besides Opti-Coat aka Opti-Guard to ensure it does not oxidized so fast.


Time Spend: bout 1 hour
Product used: Optimum double sided wool pad + optimum compound, Optimum double sided polishing pad + Osren Perfect Finish 2.0, masking tape, Optimum Opti-Coat/Opti-Guard and a few microfiber cloths.
Satisfaction Level: Not bad for an hour job.
Note:
- As the oxidation is not severe and there was no micro cracking, sanding is not necessary.
- The headlamp remained clear and awesome till the day the car was sold.... which was more than one year after this was done.
- Cost to the owner...... heck, one of my best buddy hence no charges since this was a simple enough job with my experience.
